Great Books Parent Seminar with Dr. Eliot Grasso

Please join us on the evening of October 12 for our first ever Great Books Parent Seminar. We will be hosting Dr. Eliot Grasso, provost of Gutenberg College, who will be covering the topic “What is Definitive about a Great Books Education?”. Dr. Grasso will address the relevance of giving our children an education based in classical literature, for our modern day. The seminar will take place at the Multi-Purpose Room, on the Heritage Elementary campus, from 6:30-8:00. This event is free and open to the community. Registration is not required, but we appreciate your RSVP. Biography

Dr. Eliot Grasso, Ph.D. serves as provost of Gutenberg College. He joined the faculty as a tutor in 2012 and leads discussions in the Great Books on topics including philosophy, history, music, aesthetics, and economics. He holds a M.A. in ethnomusicology from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick where served on the faculty teaching master classes in uilleann piping and advanced music theory, and a Ph.D. in musicology from the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance where he teaches on music history, film music, and art in culture.

Dr. Grasso is an award-winning researcher, performer, and composer specializing in the cultural heritage and performance techniques of Irish traditional music. He has given guest lectures at institutions of higher education including New York University, University of Limerick in Ireland, Willamette University, Lewis & Clark College, Millsaps College, University of Oregon, and New Hope Christian College.
